A hands-on workshop led by current NAC artist, Rachel Collier. Students will learn the process of making a painting using wool roving.
CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Paintings can be painted with anything that leaves a mark. Learn how to use wool roving as an alternative to paint. Blend colors, draw lines and build textures using a felting needle as your brush and pre felted wool as your canvas. Discover ideas for how to put your felted piece to work as functional art. Leave class with a finished painting!
The class is for youth ages 7 to 17. This class is free of charge, though sign-up via Eventbrite is required. The cost of the class and materials are covered by our generous business sponsors and grants from the Region 2 Arts Council and 3M.
The class will take place in our main gallery at the historic Hubbard County Court House in Park Rapids. Attendance is limited to 20 participants, and we will keep a 10 person waitlist if necessary. Please provide your name, the participant's name and age, and your email and phone number in case there are any logistical snags we need to contact you about. Please register by September 24.
